Ashton Turns Eight

Ashton will always be able to remember the date of his baptism.  He was lucky to have the stake baptism fall right on his birthday, February 2nd!
He was baptized and confirmed by his dad, his grandpas were the witnesses.
One of his best buddies Chance Worthington was also baptized that night.
We planned on having a pretty big gathering to celebrate, but Ava ended up sick and in the ER, with what they thought was pneumonia, and the medicine wouldn't have had enough time and she would still have been contagious.  So just Grandma Mary and Grandpa Clark came from my side of the family, and just the locals came from Eric's side.  Grandma Mary stayed home from the baptism with Ava.
We had a dinner and birthday cake on Sunday.
The next weekend we had a little party with Ashton's buddies!
Talk about crazy!!!!  They had a good time playing "Minute to win it" games.
Eight year olds are pretty rambunctious!  I was glad when Eric showed up!
They got to fill out their own dinner order.  I put their ingredients on a plate and they each got to make their own pizza.
Chandler and Chance making their masterpieces.
Hunter had to go to basketball practice so he missed the photo.

Pinewood Derby X 2

When Eric realized he was going to be helping make two derby cars this year he was not to excited... but he pulled thru and got them done.  The boys designed their cars and got to work.  Ashton was so excited to be able to be apart of it this year.
We combined with one of the Kimberly wards this year, so there were a lot more boys involved.

Hunter and Ashton didn't win, but they had a good time!

Ava Turns Two

Ava turned two on the 10th of January!
We had a little party with family.  Ava just woke up from her nap, so it took some time for her to warm up to the idea.....

but once she did wake up she was all smiles!  Ava is a fun, happy girl.  She is growing up way to fast.  Who ever says kids don't come with their own personalities is wrong.  Ava certainly came a girly girl.  She loves to have her nails painted, doesn't mind getting her hair done, and has quite the sense of fashion and has to pick out her own clothes, loves shoes (more so if they are someone elses).  What would we do without her!
Her favorite part was the icing.
I decided to try a new technique that I saw on pinterest for the icing.  The cake was vanilla and chocolate with Grandma Gerri's filling in between the layers.

Christmas Tree Cutting

We were so happy to make the trip to Wyoming to my parents for Thanksgiving this year.  Unfortunately I did take any pictures of the event and my memory is poor, so I can't even remember who was all there.  I know it was a small gathering, which is fun because you can actually visit with the people there and the food is warm (I want to say Clair's and Chris's families were there).  It was delicious!
Another great part of the weekend was I got to play volleyball with my sister's and some friends in the alumni volleyball at my high school.  It has been way to long since I have been able to do that, and I don't know that it will happen again.  We didn't win the whole thing but we did pretty good (I want to say we took 3rd but I don't really remember).
Traditionally my family always went to the mountains and cut our own Christmas tree.  Most years they weren't real pretty trees, but we always had a fun time as a family.  My little family has cut our own a couple times in Idaho when possible and have enjoyed it as well.  My sister's Carla and Chris and their families were going the weekend we were there so we decided to join in the fun and join them.
The boys were loving the snow, and the weather was beautiful!
Chris, Emily, and Dillon found a great tree.
Jared and Eric cut down our tree.
 Our happy family.
 Hannah, Kate, Carla, and Jared
Hunter and Ashton wanted to take some snow home with us.

We had a great time.  We wrapped up our tree in an old sheet and pulled a "Griswold's" and strapped it on top of the van and headed for Idaho.  Unfortunately we only made it to the next exit.  We couldn't take the whistling and whipping of the straps on the car.  We turned around and took it back to my parents house for someone else to decorate.  We ended up purchasing a tree when we got home!

Hunter Celebrates #10

Hunter turned 10 on the 21st of November.
He designed and decorated his own cake.
We had a house full of family!  A lot of family were in town so we just made it one big party for the few whose birthdays just happened or would be be in the next little bit.
Slade and Millie both were celebrating "2".
 Isaiah turning "1".

Hunter loved having a lot of the cousins at his party!
Happy Birthday Hunter!
